[la'granxa-], monumentale spätbarocke Schlossanlage in der zentralspanischen
Provinz Segovia, am Nordhang der
Sierra de Guadarrama, 11 km südöstlich von Segovia, beim Dorf
San Ildefonso (5 000
Einwohner). Das »spanische Versailles«, ursprünglich ein Jagdsitz (1450) Heinrichs IV. von
Kastilien, 1721-36 von
Philipp V. als
Residenz umgebaut, ist heute
Nationalmuseum. Es umfasst einen rechteckigen Kernbau (1721-23) und die Stiftskirche (
Grabmal von Philipp V. und
Isabella Farnese, 1756). Vier Seitenflügel (1727-34) umschließen den Hufeisen- und den Kutschenhof. Die Gartenfassade wurde 1736 von G. B.
Sacchetti errichtet. Zur Anlage gehören u. a. die erste Kristallglasfabrik Europas (nach 1762; stillgelegt) und ein Park (1721-28) im klassischen französischen Stil (u. a.
Brunnen, Gartenplastik). Im Schloss sind ein Teppichmuseum sowie Gemälde- und Skulpturensammlungen untergebracht.
